AER – Alberta Energy Regulator
- is an independent, quasi-judicial agency of the Government of Alberta. The AER
regulates the safe, responsible, and efficient development of Alberta's energy
resources: oil, natural gas, oil sands, coal, and pipelines.
-- Alberta Environment and Parks - is a partner in protecting and enhancing
Alberta's natural environment, to ensure the continued enjoyment of a clean
and healthy environment by all.
-- Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers - represents the upstream
producing sector of the petroleum industry. Member companies find, develop,
and produce more than 95 percent of Canada's natural gas and crude oil. Those
companies range in size from start-up operation to major integrated companies.
Associate members provide a broad range of services to the upstream sector of
Canada's petroleum industry.
Surface Rights Board - is a quasi-judicial tribunal that grants right of entry and assists
landowners/occupants and operators resolve disputes about compensation when operators require
access to private land or occupied crown land to develop subsurface resources such as oil, gas,
and coal or to build and operate pipelines and power transmission lines.
The Property Rights Advocate Office - an independent office within the Government of Alberta
- listens to concerns about real property and works towards creating greater awareness and
